The most common reason why your iPhone won’t connect to iTunes is that the drivers are not are working correctly. Firstly you should know what is a Device driver if you are not similar to this then read it below.

What is Device Driver?

A device driver is a program in PC which tells windows how to interact with the hardware that is connected to your computer. So, if you have not drivers of some particular functions, then your windows does not know how to interact with your device which attached to your computer. If your iPhone drivers are not up to date, then it will not know how to interact with your iPhone, and it won’t show up in the Itunes.

It is the usual reason for drivers are not working correctly, on PC’s the first thing you need to do open your device manager.  You can search your device manager by going to control panel, but the easiest way to find device manager is by writing in the search bar and type ‘device manager.’

After you open device manager the first thing to do is search for universal serial bus controllers and click on triangle shape icon. A drop-down menu will open, and there you will see apple mobile device USB driver which is listed there.

Now click on the uninstall and windows will remove the driver from the list of the universal serial bus driver.

If the driver is not found there, then it will be missing from device manager

Mainly there are two reasons why Apple mobile device USB driver won’t show up in the device manager.

  • Firstly your iPhone is not connected to your PC. Open you’re my computer and see if their iPhone device appeared or not.
  • The driver is not automatically showing up or reinstalling on your computer. In case you deleted your driver and by plugin again your device the drivers are not installing. So we have a solution to this problem as well.

When the apple mobile device drivers do not show up. Then look for another option called Portable Device in device manager. Click on it, and you will see Apple iPhone listed below. It is also another way of checking if your phone is connected or not.

How to fix Problem if the driver is missing in device manager

From this point on, the fixing problem is as the updating the driver and drivers that are missing from device manager.

  • If the drivers are entirely missing, then click on Apple iPhone. Now choose the option to browse my computer for driver software, and a window will appear on the screen.

How to browse for Apple mobile device USB driver

Now, you will need to find the folder where a driver on your computer is store. You have to locate the folder in the windows.

C:/program files/ common files/ apple/ mobile device support/ drivers

Run this command on cmd on the terminal, if you did not get then wait I will explain below don’t worry.

Finding the driver on PC

Firstly, after selecting browse, look through the list until your find c drive.

Now scroll down and find program files and click on it. Now find current records and open the drop down again, yes if you get to it then you are going well.

Look for the apple folder in it and open that folder, and find mobile device support and open it.

Last step: Now click on the folder called drivers and select it, just click on ok and you get it.

You have selected the correct folder now for updating the apple mobile device USB driver or for missing it. Now move to the next step, you will click on next then you will see a message that shows you that you have successfully installed your driver.

 iPhone will show up in Itunes
